As we go live with this week's Swan's Picks, we are saddened to learn of the loss of a First: Justice Sandra Day O'Connor, the nation's first female U.S. Supreme Court Justice. Justice O'Connor's jurisprudence was informed by her time on the bench of the Arizona Court of Appeals, and in her retirement she advocated for fair and independent state courts, and improved civic education. Our hearts are with her family and her family of law clerks.
