About
Meryl Justin Chertoff is Managing Editor of SLogLaw, the State and Local Government Law Blog, Executive Director of the Georgetown Project on State and Local Government Policy and Law (SALPAL) and adjunct professor of law at Georgetown University Law Center, where she teaches about state and local government. She is former director of Georgetown Law's Sandra Day O'Connor Project on the State of the Judiciary. For ten years, she directed educational programs and symposia for judges, lawyers and state public health officials at the Aspen Institute, where she founded and led the Inclusive America Project, countering religious polarization. Previously, she worked in a variety of roles in New Jersey State government and in intergovernmental affairs. Her JD and BA degrees are from Harvard. She is an opinion contributor for The Hill, and her writing has appeared in publications including Bloomberg Law and Health Affairs.
